CULT42

Cult42 is a mysterious, invite-only art collective designed to meet the needs of young artists & create an almost utopian environment.

CULT42 was born as an idea in the Fall of 2018. I felt that the Chicago art scene was lacking an honest, trustworthy, close-knit space to connect with each other and work together. CULT42 aimed to be an art community revolving around meeting the needs of artists and creating their own kind of world. Over the next few months, I conducted a series of interviews with artists inside and outside of my network and investigated what it is that they value and need within their community. From there, I started building CULT42 and thinking about how these feelings could manifest aesthetically into my capstone project.
