Overview

Under capitalism, value is defined through the exchange of a commodity made by human labor for currency. Thus, economic value is produced and measured at macro scale through GDP. However, under these conditions, all labor productivity outside of the workplace is valueless labor. It is also heavily subject to gendered divisions. This work explores the ability of food production in domestic spaces as a way of creating autonomy and enabling technological advances. All colors used were the result of dyes crafted from food waste and additional items were made from bioplastics.
