Overview

“South Works Evolution” is an exploration of Chicago's industrial past, focusing on South Works, a former steel mill located on the city's far south side. The project is an interactive exploration and mapping of South Works' history and change, from a 20th-century industrial powerhouse to near-complete vacancy. The project offers a glimpse into an interesting and overlooked aspect of the city and region’s history.
